You’ve probably been inundated with My Pillow television commercials (and infomercials).
And you’re likely numb to repeatedly hearing about how life-changing My Pillow is — after all, its jingle drives the point: “For the best night sleep in the whole wide world…”
Wow, that’s quite a claim!
And having “the My Pillow guy” himself, founder and CEO Mike Lindell, tout its benefits strikes a nerve. A good night’s sleep is essential (and precious) to people and the thought of having a pillow to help magically make that a reality sounds enticing!
So how does My Pillow hold up in fulfilling that expectation of restful sleep? Is My Pillow worth it?
Time for a My Pillow review!
My Pillow Review: Pillow Preferences
No doubt a good pillow can make a world of difference when it comes to sleeping, but there aren’t many that effectively make the grade.
Believe me, I’ve tried my fair share of pillows over the years.
Just to name a few:
- Pillows from retailers such as Macy’s and Bed, Bath & Beyond
- Sharper Image’s Pedic Memory Foam pillow
- Brookstone’s BioSense Classic Memory Foam pillow
- Various bamboo pillows
- And, yes, even the much-hyped My Pillow
Some brands tout how supportive their pillows are, how they relieve neck pressure, and help with stiff back issues. Others promote product features such as “goose down” or “shredded memory foam” to convince consumers that their pillow is THE pillow that’s the softest and plush.
Yadda, yadda, yadda. (Pardon the Seinfeld reference.)
Indeed, there are MANY pillow options to choose from…and therein lies the riddle: finding a pillow that has ALL — not just some — of the qualities you want:
- Soft AND supportive
- Perfect for ANY sleeping position — regardless if you’re a side sleeper or sleep on your back because you might be both!
- Filled with premium foam, but NOT overstuffed and too firm
- Have a soft outer casing that’s breathable so your head doesn’t overheat when you lay on it
- And so on…
There shouldn’t be trade-offs to your pillow wishlist.
Some pillows I’ve owned have met some of my criteria, which results in their shortfalls becoming more and more apparent over time.
This brings us to this My Pillow review and determining if it’s worth the money…
One of the biggest letdowns from all the pillows I’ve tried over the years has been My Pillow.
Oh, how I had hoped that those commercials promoting My Pillow’s benefits would live up to my expectations. After all, I wasn’t asking for much (not “the best sleep of my life,” or even “the best night sleep in the whole wide world”).
Just a good night of sleep.
But that didn’t happen.
Instead, restless tossing and turning ensued while trying to figure out — as odd as it may sound — how to make the My Pillow pillow comfortable.
I’m reminded of a “Three’s Company” episode where Jack Tripper can’t get comfortable in bed no matter how hard he tries, continuously fussing around with his pillows, tilting his head in all directions to try and find the best angle…
My Pillow Review: Is My Pillow Worth It?
If you’ve been considering a My Pillow and are unsure if it’s worth it, then this My Pillow review is for you!
Here are some common questions that might have crossed your mind, along with some quick answers based on my experience:
- Is My Pillow comfortable? No.
- Is My Pillow lumpy? Yes.
- Is My Pillow supportive? No.
- Is My Pillow good for side sleepers or back sleepers? No.
- Is My Pillow good for the neck and back? No.
And, finally…
- Is My Pillow worth the money? No.
Just because a lot of advertising has been spent by the My Pillow company doesn’t make it a great pillow.
That’s not to say the ads aren’t effective in persuading viewers that My Pillow is the end-all-be-all of pillows, but that’s what commercials and “as seen on TV” infomercials are all about: convincing viewers that a product is SO amazing and the greatest thing since sliced bread. But that’s not what this My Pillow review is about.
These types of commercials (aka marketing vehicles) will also tease viewers with “unique” promo code offers and other incentives, just to sweeten the deal and get you to act fast — so fast, that you don’t spend too much time contemplating whether it’s even a good purchase:
“Order now and enter this promo code in the next 10 minutes to get this great, limited-time offer!”
Promo codes can definitely be handy, but just remember they’re NOT beneficial when you’re using them to buy an inferior product!
You’ll also likely be told that there’s a “100% money-back guarantee” on the product’s website, except you’re the one who has to pay the shipping charges (even a “restocking fee” sometimes) if you choose to return it.
Here’s a screengrab from the My Pillow website’s Money Back Guarantee section (with my highlights and arrows added):
Hmm, “100%” doesn’t really mean 100% all the time.
To be fair, My Pillow may be good enough for some people, though I have no doubt there are many consumers disappointed with their My Pillow purchase and simply don’t want to go through the hassle of returning it.
I can hear their rationale now: “Let’s just put the My Pillow in the guest bedroom and find a better one for ourselves.”
Don’t sell yourself short or suffer through any more sleepless nights!
My Pillow isn’t worth it, but there is a better pillow option…
MyPillow Alternative: A Better Pillow For Better Sleep
Finding the right pillow (i.e., the best pillow that’s right for you) can be frustrating, and you definitely don’t want to spend more time searching than necessary to make the right choice.
So what do I consider the best pillow for a comfortable night’s sleep, not to mention unquestionably a MyPillow alternative?
Well, after trying out many pillows over the years, there’s one that stands out. It is extremely comfortable, and while puffy-cloud soft, it’s also perfectly supportive:
The Coop Home Goods Premium Adjustable Pillow. (Amazon product/order page is here.)
Coop Home Goods Pillow: Benefits
One of the great perks of the Coop Home Goods Premium Adjustable Pillow, especially for anyone who’s particular about head and neck support, is that it’s EFFECTIVELY adjustable! (It’s not just a marketing claim.)
You can customize the pillow’s support level to your heart’s (and neck’s) content!
The Coop Home Goods Pillow comes with a separate allotment of additional fluffy (NOT lumpy) premium filling that you can manually add to the pillow yourself — as much or as little as you want — just so you can get it to the exact support level YOU want.
This adjustable fill option works well in meeting all your neck, back, and overall comfort needs — no matter what kind of sleeper you are!
And since you’ll be using the pillow for years to come, it’s nice knowing you’re in control of adjusting its filling however and whenever you want, especially if your sleep position preference happens to change at some point.
I’ve adjusted the filling in my Coop Home Goods Pillow slightly since I purchased it; it’s now at the precise neck alignment level I want it to be, all while still maintaining its soft, comfortable surface.
The Coop Home Goods Pillow also comes with its own “stay cool” cover, which can easily be unzipped, removed, and washed.
The pillow itself can be put in the dryer, so you can give it a fluffy refresh anytime you please.

My Pillow vs. Coop Home Goods Pillow
After researching and buying numerous pillows over the years (and ending up disappointed), it’s nice to finally have a pillow that lives up to my expectations.
A pillow can improve your quality of life if it does what it claims and provides a great night’s sleep, and that’s exactly what the Coop Home Goods Pillow has done for me.
Sleeping through the night and feeling more refreshed in the morning can work wonders!
Plus, it’s nice not waking up in the middle of the night anymore, just to bunch up a poor-quality pillow so that it’s supportive enough to get me to the morning.
A pillow should accommodate the sleeper, not vice versa! And that’s the crux of this My Pillow review.
A Better Pillow = Better Sleep
The Coop Home Goods Pillow is a worthy purchase AND has a risk-free, money-back guarantee (which includes return shipping), so you can easily send it back for a full refund if you’re disappointed for any reason.
It also makes a great gift! If you know someone who suffers from poor sleep — be it a friend, relative or elder — it’s the type of useful gift that keeps on giving. At the least, they’ll surely appreciate a recommendation.
(By the way, you may have also heard of My Pillow “Giza Dreams Sheets.” Coop Home Goods offers numerous bedding accessories too, but I also recommend these soft, comfortable, quality bed sheets!)
All Pillows Are NOT Created Equal
Don’t just buy any pillow you find simply because it’s a “bargain.”
Remember, a “deal” means it’s mutually beneficial to BOTH parties, so don’t be on the short end of the proverbial stick.
And please don’t make the mistake of thinking that all pillows are more or less the same and not end up with one that’s truly best for you. Settling for a sub-par pillow whose quality is disappointing isn’t worth your time and effort.
Get The Sleep You Deserve!
One benefit of having a great pillow is not being reminded of how uncomfortable it is every single night.
For goodness sake, it’s a pillow! It just needs to serve its purpose, and do it well.
The Coop Home Goods Pillow does.
Of course, some products — as great as they might be for some people — still might be disappointing to others, but the fact that you’re able to return the Coop Home Goods Pillow hassle-free makes giving it a try all the more worthwhile.
I hope you make my pillow (i.e., the Coop Home Goods Pillow) YOUR pillow, and that you love it just as much.
May sweet dreams and restful nights of sleep await you!

This is superb. If you have neck or back pain sleeping, it’s generally recommended you use a pillow for sleeping on your back to feel comfortable and pain-free.
